POLICE RECOVER SLAIN BISHOP’S SUV, ARREST TWO OVER ANAMBRA MURDER

The Nigeria Police Force said it has made a major breakthrough in the murder investigation of Bishop Chinedu Clarence James, recovering his stolen Toyota Land Cruiser and arresting two suspects linked to the crime.

The operation was carried out by the Anambra State Police Command following credible intelligence that the vehicle was being moved to Onitsha for sale. Acting on the directive of Inspector-General of Police Olatunji Disu, operatives tracked and intercepted the suspects during a coordinated intelligence-led operation.

Preliminary investigations revealed that one suspect allegedly contacted a cousin in Onitsha to help secure a buyer after the bishop was abducted and murdered in Delta State on 12 May. The suspects were arrested at the point of sale, while the Toyota Land Cruiser was recovered as vital evidence.

Police said the arrests provide a critical lead into the circumstances of the bishop’s abduction and killing. The vehicle is being held for forensic examination as part of the investigation.

Authorities said investigations have intensified to dismantle the entire syndicate behind the kidnapping, murder, and attempted sale of the stolen vehicle. Further arrests are expected as the probe continues.
