NDLEA ARRESTS THREE SUSPECTS WITH DISABILITY IN ANAMBRA, KWARA DRUG RAIDS

Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency have arrested three persons with disability, including a 60-year-old man, for alleged drug trafficking during interdiction operations in Anambra and Kwara states last week, the agency said.
Acting on intelligence, NDLEA officers on Wednesday, 6 May 2026, traced Romanus Nwabara, 60, to Akpaka Forest, Onitsha, where he was found with 250 grams of skunk in retail sachets. In a separate raid on Thursday, 7 May, at Ogbunike, officers arrested Amos Kenneth, 25, also a person with disability, with 160.3 grams of Tramadol 225mg and 100mg, 80 pills of Diazepam, 38.23 grams of Exol 5 and 176.93 grams of skunk.
In Kwara State, NDLEA operatives on patrol along Bode Saadu on Friday, 8 May, intercepted a commercial vehicle. During a search, one passenger, Usman Salisu, a person with disability, was found with 6.3 kilograms of skunk concealed in a brown school bag, the agency said.
While commending the officers and men of various Commands of the Agency for the arrests and seizures, Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of NDLEA, Brig. Gen. Mohamed Buba Marwa (Rtd) noted their drug supply reduction efforts balanced with WADA sensitization activities while he charged them and their compatriots across the country to maintain the current tempo
