A Ghanaian man, Ebenezer Frimpong, has been arrested after allegedly stealing an armoured vehicle belonging to the Ghana Police Service at Nkawie Market in the Ashanti Region.
Reports say the incident happened when the driver briefly stepped out of the vehicle and left the engine running. Frimpong allegedly seized the opportunity, entered the armoured vehicle, and drove off from the crowded market.
Security operatives launched an immediate pursuit after receiving reports of the theft. Officers tracked the suspect along the Nkawie–Mim route and intercepted him near Mim.
The armoured vehicle was recovered without damage. Frimpong is now in custody while police investigate the full circumstances of the incident.
