How Fake PoS Business Hid N7bn Drug Empire – Police

Operatives of the Nigeria Police Force, Zone 2 Headquarters, have arrested a Lagos-based businessman, Eke Henry Ifeanyi, for alleged trafficking of Canadian Loud, a high-grade strain of cannabis worth an estimated N7 billion.

The suspect, who operated a Point-of-Sale receipt paper business as cover, was apprehended on May 19, 2026, following months of surveillance by police intelligence. On Saturday, AIG Moshood Jimoh led journalists to Ifeanyi’s apartment at Arowojobe Estate, Maryland, where the drugs were recovered.

During the raid, officers found cartons of PoS printing papers stacked in one section of the apartment, while several bags containing suspected cannabis were hidden in an inner room. A total of 425 bags of the illicit substance were seized, with police estimating the street value at over N7bn.

AIG Jimoh told reporters that Ifeanyi used the PoS paper trade to conceal his drug operations and avoid suspicion. Police also accused him of using a fake number plate inscribed _“Presidency, NYCN”_ to evade security checks. “For several months, we intensified our surveillance around him. On 19th May, 2026, we were successful,” Jimoh said.

The discovery stunned residents of the estate, many of whom expressed shock that the quiet businessman was allegedly running a large-scale drug syndicate. Neighbours said they had no idea of the activities taking place inside the apartment.

Ifeanyi admitted ownership of the seized drugs during questioning and told police he supplied them to distributors in neighbouring countries. The AIG said investigation is ongoing to identify collaborators at all levels of the supply chain. “We are going further to investigate those who have collaborated with him… our investigation is ongoing and we have made significant progress,” Jimoh added.
