GFF@25: Over 130 Ogun Residents Regain Sight Through Daniel-Sponsored Free Medical Outreach

More than 130 residents of Ogun State have reportedly regained their sight through a free medical outreach sponsored by Senator Otunba Gbenga Daniel as part of activities marking the 25th anniversary of the Gateway Front Foundation.
The ongoing GFF@25 medical mission is providing free specialist healthcare services to residents, including eye surgeries, gynaecological procedures, orthopaedic interventions and other major and minor surgical operations.
The initiative, hosted at Redeemer’s Health Village in Mowe, has brought medical professionals from the United States to Nigeria to support the delivery of essential healthcare services to beneficiaries.
Organised in partnership with Sharing Hope Medical Mission, USA, Sharing Hope and Care Foundation, and Redeemer’s Health Village, the programme also offers free medical consultations and essential medications.
The intervention is aimed at easing the financial burden of healthcare on residents, particularly those who cannot readily afford specialist treatment and surgical procedures.
For residents who have struggled with impaired vision, the restoration of sight represents an opportunity to regain independence, improve their daily lives and reconnect more fully with their families and communities.
Daniel, a former governor of Ogun State and senator representing Ogun East Senatorial District, reportedly committed substantial personal resources to support the initiative and make the medical services available at no cost to beneficiaries.
To accommodate more residents and reduce congestion at the main facility, the organisers have also decentralised routine medical services to designated centres across participating local government areas.
The arrangement is expected to improve access to the programme and bring essential healthcare services closer to communities across the state.
The GFF@25 medical outreach underscores the role of partnerships between humanitarian organisations and medical professionals in addressing healthcare needs, particularly among people who face financial barriers to treatment.
As the programme continues, additional residents are expected to benefit from the range of medical services being provided under the initiative.
