Prominent Evangelist Uma Ukpai passes away

Reports indicate that renowned Nigerian evangelist Uma Ukpai has passed away at the age of 80. Born on January 7, 1945, he was the founder of the Uma Ukpai Evangelistic Association (UUEA), an international gospel ministry based in Uyo, Akwa Ibom State.
The news was shared by Church Gist on Facebook.
Ukpai was a highly influential preacher in Nigeria and beyond, renowned for his impactful crusades and healing services. He was one of the founding fathers of the Pentecostal Fellowship of Nigeria (PFN), a major Christian movement in Nigeria.
He co-authored literary works with prominent Christian leaders, including Billy Graham, and was a speaker at international conventions. His lasting legacy includes the establishment of hospitals and schools to empower communities. Ukpai was married to Philomena Uma Ukpai, and they had six children.
Prior to his passing, he celebrated his 80th birthday in January 2025, and his followers gifted him N80 million.
