APC Dismisses Fake Primary Election Results

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has dismissed a list circulating on social media that claims to contain the names of successful candidates from its recently concluded primary elections. The party said the publication is unauthorised and urged members and the public to ignore it.
In a public notice issued on Sunday, the APC stated that it has not released any official APC primary election results. The disclaimer, signed by the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Felix Morka, was shared through the APC’s official X account.
According to the party, reports announcing the outcome of the primaries are false and do not represent its official position.
The APC explained that successful aspirants would receive formal notification through the party’s recognised communication channels before being issued their Certificates of Return.
“Successful candidates would be formally notified through the party’s official channels, after which Certificates of Return would be issued in line with established procedures,” the notice stated.
The party emphasised that updates regarding the APC primary election results would only be communicated through its official platforms. It advised members, stakeholders and the general public to rely solely on authorised party announcements to avoid misinformation.
The clarification comes as political parties continue preparations for upcoming electoral activities, with the APC stressing the importance of following verified information throughout the process.
