Third Mainland Bridge Shut Down by Protesters Protesting Demolition of Houses in Oworonshoki

Demonstrators on Monday, obstructed the inward lane of the Third Mainland Bridge in Lagos due to the demolition of houses in Oworonshoki.
.On Saturday, a joint enforcement team from the Lagos state government began demolishing unauthorized structures along the Lekki and Iyana Oworosonki coastal lines.
A large number of residents who were impacted by the demolition accused the Lagos state government of conducting the exercise without sufficient notice or compensation, resulting in numerous families being left without homes.
The protest, which began at dawn, led to traffic chaos, stranding motorists and compelling commuters to find alternative routes into the mainland.
During the demonstration, the protesters confronted Moshood Jimoh, the Lagos commissioner of police, insisting they would not disperse until demolition equipment was withdrawn from Oworonshoki.
Security operatives were later deployed to restore order and clear the road.
The Lagos state government has yet to issue an official response to the protest or the demolition exercise
