POLICE SECURE RELEASE OF 5 KIDNAP VICTIMS, TAKE DOWN 5 KIDNAPPERS IN KEBBI,ABIA STATES

Recent anti-crime efforts by the Nigeria Police Force prove highly successful, with the rescue of five kidnapped victims in Kebbi State and the elimination of five suspected kidnappers in Abia State

According to a statement by the Force, the operations yielded the recovery of arms, ammunition, and other perilous weapons, underscoring its commitment to safeguarding lives and property.

Police operatives in Kebbi State, in conjunction with other security agencies and vigilantes, successfully rescued three kidnapped victims after engaging armed kidnappers in a gun battle in Shanga Hills. In a separate operation in Danko/Wasagu LGA, two victims abducted in Zamfara were freed unharmed following a successful confrontation with bandits.

In Abia State, operatives launched a raid on a kidnappers’ den in Ukwa West LGA, resulting in a fierce exchange of gunfire with the gang. The police’s superior firepower ultimately led to the elimination of five gang members and the recovery of a large cache of arms and ammunition. The Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, praised the officers for their bravery and assured Nigerians of sustained efforts to dismantle criminal networks nationwide.
