Police apprehend 52 suspects in raids, thwart robbery attempt in Abuja.

The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has effectively foiled a robbery attempt, killing one suspected robber in a gun duel in Giri Village, behind the University of Abuja Staff Quarters, while arresting 52 suspects in coordinated operations targeting black spots and criminal hideouts across the territory.
According to sources, the robbery incident, which took place at around 3:20 a.m. when armed robbers invaded the area, was foiled due to a prompt response by the police. Police patrol teams from Tungan Maje Division, in collaboration with members of the Civilian JTF and vigilantes, were deployed to the scene and clashed with the hoodlums in a gun battle.
One of the suspects sustained bullet injuries and was rushed to the University of Abuja Teaching Hospital, where he was confirmed dead by a medical doctor on duty, while others escaped.
Items recovered from the scene include a POS machine, four mobile phones and a cutlass.
