Reactions have surfaced online after the General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, Pastor Enoch Adeboye made an unscheduled visit to a local parish in a seemingly remote village.
A video posted on Facebook by Truth Embassy shows Pastor Adeboye praying and blessing the congregation, with the number of members in attendance appearing to be less than 20.
A user Michael Obekpa said ‘ I believed this visit was not prepared for It seems he was passing and saw the branch of Redeemed church and decided to visit them to encourage the worshippers.If it were a prepared visit,you will not see where to put your leg because of the crowed that would have turned out.This is how Christ will come in His second coming.Unscheduled visit.Many that didn’t come to church that day will forever regret it’
Others lauded the humility of the esteemed Pastor, who did not have bodyguards, drawing parallels between the visit and the second coming of Jesus Christ.
The Redeemed Christian Church of God was founded in 1952 by Rev. Josiah Olufemi Akindayomi. After the demise of the foubder , the mantle of leadership of the Church fell on Pastor Enoch Adeboye in 1981 . With presence in 197 countries and territories of the world and more than 5 million members in Nigeria alone, it is one of the biggest church denominations in the world with over 9 million members worldwide.
