Correctional Service Pursues Stronger Ties with EFCC to Tackle Corruption in Maiduguri

The Nigeria Correctional Service, Borno State Command, has reiterated its dedication to fostering a stronger alliance with the Maiduguri Zonal Directorate of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, aimed at combating economic and financial crimes in Borno State.

This assurance was given on Tuesday, October 28, 2025, when Comptroller of Correctional Service Maiduguri Command, Ya’u Ibrahim, led senior officials of his Service on a courtesy visit to the Maiduguri Zonal Director, Commander of the EFCC, CE Aisha A. T Habib.

Ibrahim said that his visit to the Directorate was to cement the existing cordial relationship between the two government bodies. “As a new Comptroller recently posted to Maiduguri and as the tradition entails; it is expedient for me to visit your organisation and seek for a stronger synergy and collaboration for the achievement of our common goals. I believe if the two agencies collaborate, we will achieve more”, he said.

Habib, in her response, expressed appreciation for the visit and equally assured Ibrahim that the Directorate was working assiduously with the Service in order to achieve the mandate of the EFCC. “We are looking forward for more fruitful collaboration and synergy”, she said
