Chelsea Defeat Real Betis To Win UEFA Conference
Chelsea Fottbal Club of London fought back from a 1-0 deficit to defeat Spanish side Real Betis Fc 4-1 in the final of the 2025-26 UEFA Conference League to emerge as champions of the competition.
Enzo Maresca made changes to the side that defeated Nottingham Forest on Sunday, with the likes of Robert Sanchez, Tosin Adarabioyo, Levi Colwill, and Reece James all dropping to the bench.
Abde Ezzalzouli gave Real Betis the lead in the ninth minute following a mistake by Malo Gusto in midfield.
The Blues struggled to find their rhythm in the first half as Real Betis held on to the lead to go into the break with a deserved lead.
Maresca responded by taking off Malo Gusto for Reece James at the beginning of the second half
Cole Palmer produced a sublime cross for Enzo Fernandez to restore parity for Chelsea with a well-placed header in the 65th minute.
The Blues turned the game around five minutes later with the second goal from Nico Jackson.
Palmer turned a Real Betis defender on the edge of the box before producing a sublime cross for Nico Jackson to make it 2-1.
The Senegalese striker misses a glorious opportunity to increase Chelsea’s lead when he breaks through from the midfield before applying too much pace on the ball to allow Adrian to catch the ball.
Substitute Jadon Sancho put the icing on the cake with a stunning finish to make it 3-1 before Moises Caicedo added the fourth goal to make Chelsea the first team to win the Champions League, Europa League, and Europa Conference League
