Adejobi assumes new role in Delta, IGP to appoint new spokesperson

The Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun has redeployed Muyiwa Adejobi, the Force Public Relations Officer (FPRO), to serve in the Delta State Command.

Adejobi will take up the position of deputy commissioner of police in charge of operations in Delta.

In a statement released by Adejobi, arrangements are being concluded for the announcement of a new Force Public Relations Officer

“The Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Ph.D., NPM, has approved the posting of the Force Public Relations Officer, DCP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, mnipr, mipra, fCAI, as the Deputy Commissioner of Police in charge of the Department of Operations, Delta State Command. This deployment underscores the confidence of the Force leadership in his wealth of experience, professionalism, and capacity to further strengthen operational strategies in the Command.

The IGP has commended DCP Adejobi for his exceptional service as Force Public Relations Officer, noting his professionalism, commitment, and remarkable contributions to strengthening the image and communication strategies of the Nigeria Police Force. The IGP expressed confidence that he will bring the same level of dedication and excellence to his new assignment in Delta State.”

Adejobi was appointed acting PPRO of the Police force in February 2022.His confirmation as the force spokesperson occurred in April 2022.

Prior to his appointment as FPRO, Adejobi served in various capacities as Ogun police Coomand spokesperson from 2008 to 2016. Lagos Poluce Command between September 2020 and August 2021. He also served as police spokesperson for zone 2 headquarters in Onikan, Lagos.

Adejobi studied archaeology and geography (combined honours) at the University of Ibadan. He also earned a master’s degree in peace and conflict studies from the same institution
