The Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Zone 2 Command, Onikan, Lagos, AIG Olohundare Moshood Jimoh, has said he remains undeterred by what he described as false allegations and media narratives against him.
AIG Jimoh made the statement on Tuesday while receiving an award as the Most Outstanding Anti-Crime Police Chief in West and Central Africa for 2025. The award was presented by the Security Watch Africa Initiatives Network during a visit to the Zone 2 Headquarters.
The recognition followed the 19th edition of the Africa Security Watch Conference and Award Ceremony held in The Gambia, where Jimoh was selected for his exceptional contributions to crime prevention, control and national security.
The AIG has recently been at the center of allegations made by social media influencer, Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, who accused him of corruption and abuse of office. Responding through the Zone 2 Public Relations Officer, DSP Gbenga Afolayan, Jimoh said he would continue to uphold the rule of law without fear or favour. “He assured the public that he would remain undeterred and unperturbed by false narratives or misperceptions,” Afolayan stated.
Presenting the award, Chief Executive Officer of Security Watch Africa Initiatives Network, Mr. Patrick Agbambu, commended Jimoh for strengthening security and reducing crime in Lagos State. He described the honour as recognition of the AIG’s dedication, professionalism and commitment to effective policing, and urged him to continue inspiring younger officers.
In his remarks, AIG Jimoh expressed gratitude to God and to the Inspector General of Police, IGP Olatunji Rilwan Disu, for his leadership and support. He dedicated the award to officers of Zone 2, Lagos and Ogun State Commands, crediting their collective efforts for the success of crime prevention strategies introduced during his tenure as Lagos CP and now as AIG in charge of Zone 2.
