President Bola Tinubu on Tuesday hosted Oyinkansola Badejo-Okusanya, president-elect of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA), at the State House in Abuja.
Badejo-Okusanya, a senior advocate of Nigeria (SAN), was accompanied on the courtesy visit by Foluke Dada-Lawanson, dean of the faculty of law at Caleb University; Ezinwa Okoroafor, president of the International Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA) Nigeria; Hadiza Afegbua, Federal Capital Territory (FCT) lead of the NBA Women Forum; and Ramlat Ridhwan, publicity lead of the BBold campaign team.
The visit comes ahead of Badejo-Okusanya’s inauguration as the 33rd president of the NBA.
Badejo-Okusanya made history on July 19 by becoming the first woman elected president of the NBA. She is the second female to lead the association after Priscilla Kuye, who served as its president from 1991 to 1992.
She will take over office from Afam Osigwe at the NBA’s annual general conference in Enugu next month and begin her two-year tenure.
