Lagos Seals Radio Station, Hotels Over Environmental Violation

The Lagos State Environmental Protection Agency, LASEPA, on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, sealed several establishments including a radio station across Lagos for persistent violations of environmental regulations despite repeated warnings and abatement notices.
The enforcement exercise targeted infractions including noise pollution, air pollution, obstruction of official duties, and failure to comply with directives issued by the Agency. Officials said the action followed multiple opportunities granted to the businesses to comply.
Among the affected establishments are Wise FM, located at Ogabi Street, Meiran, Ile-Iwe Bus Stop, sealed for noise and air pollution and non-compliance; Star-View Terrace, Amuwo Odofin, sealed for noise pollution and non-compliance; and Premiership Suites, Akin Osiyemi Street, Off Allen Avenue, Ikeja, sealed for non-compliance with LASEPA directives.
Speaking during the operation, LASEPA General Manager, Dr. Babatunde Ajayi, reiterated the Agency’s commitment to safeguarding public health and ensuring a cleaner, safer, and more sustainable environment across the state.
Dr. Ajayi emphasized that both individuals and corporate organizations have a responsibility to comply with environmental laws, stressing that environmental protection is a collective duty requiring cooperation from all stakeholders. He warned that LASEPA will intensify enforcement against violators to curb environmental nuisances.
The GM further urged residents, business owners, and operators of commercial establishments to adopt environmentally responsible practices and cooperate with regulatory authorities in promoting a healthier, cleaner, and more livable Lagos.
