Lagos Government shuts down Oshodi Market following Traders Clash with Enforcement Team

The Lagos stare Government has shut down Trading activities at Oshodi Market after traders clashed with Lagos State environmental enforcement officers during a sanitation operation.

Tokounbo Wahab, the State’s Commissioner of Envuroment and water resources in a post on his X page announced the closure of the market

According to Wahab, traders at the market obstructed Lagos State Environmental Sanitation Corps LAGESC officials from arresting suspected hoodlums and beggars during an enforcement operatio

Witnesses disclosed that the confrontation began when operatives of LAGESC moved to clear roadside trading and enforce waste disposal regulations. The situation escalated, with traders resisting the operation and vandalizing enforcement vehicles, prompting security operatives to shut the market to restore order.
