CAF Disciplinary Committee sanctions Senegal , Morocco

Africa’s football governing body, Confederation of Africa Football ( CAF) Disciplinary Committee has issued heavy sanctions against Senegal and Morocco federations, players and officials following incidents during the #AFCON2025 final in Morocco.

🇸🇳 Senegal

🔸SENEGAL – COACH
Senegal head coach Pape Thiaw has been suspended for 5 official CAF matches for unsporting conduct and bringing the game into disrepute.
💰 He was also fined $100,000.

🔸SENEGAL – PLAYERS

Iliman Ndiaye has been suspended for 2 official CAF matches for unsporting behaviour towards the referee.

Ismaila Sarr has also been suspended for 2 official CAF matches for unsporting behaviour towards the referee.

🔸SENEGAL – SUPPORTERS

Senegalese Football Federation was fined $300,000 for the improper conduct of its supporters, which CAF ruled brought the game into disrepute.

🔸SENEGAL – TEAM & STAFF

FSF was further fined $300,000 for the unsporting conduct of its players and technical staff, in violation of CAF principles of fair play, loyalty and integrity.

FSF was also fined $15,000 due to five Senegal players receiving cautions during the final.

🇲🇦

🔸MOROCCO – PLAYERS

Moroccan captain & defender Achraf Hakimi has been suspended for 2 official CAF matches, with one match suspended for one year, for unsporting behaviour.

Ismaël Saibari has been suspended for 3 official CAF matches for unsporting behaviour. He was also fined $100,000.

🔸 MOROCCO – BALL BOYS

The Royal Moroccan Football Federation was fined $200,000 for the inappropriate behaviour of stadium ball boys during the final.

🔸MOROCCO – VAR INCIDENT

FRMF was fined $100,000 after players & technical staff invaded the VAR review area and obstructed the referee’s work.

MOROCCO – SUPPORTERS
FRMF was fined $15,000 for the use of lasers by Moroccan supporters during the match.

🔴 PROTEST RULING

CAF has also rejected the protest lodged by FRMF 🇲🇦 concerning alleged violations of Articles 82 & 84 by FSF 🇸🇳 of AFCON regulations during the final.
