Lagos Assembly Sanctions Guidelines to Bolster Local Government Administration

The Lagos State House of Assembly on Monday passed comprehensive regulations and guidelines,aimed at strengthening administrative procedures across all Local Government Areas and Local Council Development Areas in the state.
The House, at plenary chaired by Speaker Mudashiru Obasa, adopted the Resolution after robust deliberations.
Lawmakers took turn to comment on the resolution.
Hon. Aro Moshood praised the guidelines as “top-notch” and capable of positioning Lagos as a model for local governance.
Hon. Kehinde Joseph called for clarification on the omission of the Chief of Staff’s role.
Hon. Abiodun Orekoya stressed the need to harmonize the number of supervisors with the principal law.
Hon. Bonu Solomon commended the inclusion of community policing provisions for enhancing security and creating jobs.
The approval, according to the House, marks another decisive step toward transparency, accountability and more efficient grassroots administration in Lagos State.
