Worries as CAF approve 2 Stadiums in Nigeria for Remo stars, other Clubs Continental matches

There are major concerns on the approval by Confederation of Africa Football ( CAF) to allow just two stadiums in Nigeria to host continental matches later in the year
CAF on Monday approved only Akwa Ibom International Stadium Uyo, Moshood Abiola National Stadium Abuja stadiums in Nigeria for the 2025/26 CAF Champions League and Confederation Cup preliminaries:
Nigerian clubs Remo Stars, Rivers United,Abia Warriors and Kwara United will all play there games at this stadiums.
A Supporter of Remo Stars , who pleaded that his name shouldn’t be mentioned, revealed to cvnewsng.com that it willl be difficult for the Clubsides to give their best performance in the continental competitions.
” How can i travel to Uyo or Abuja to support Remo stars, even if i can afford the transport logistics, what about other supporters? .Let’s asssume the Chairman of Remo stars or any other influential person want to bankroll the trip for the Supporters , will it be by Air or by Road Transport. No one want to travel by Road beacuse of insecurity and bad roads networks. CAF should visit these Clubs stadium before issuing a statement about the Venue . For instance, Remo Stars can boast of a good pitch which is similar to pitches in Europe. It’s a hybrid pitch that even some clubs in English Premiership use for their matches ”
Remo Stars will host the first leg of their CAF Champion league in Nigeria against Comoros club, US Zilimadjou.
Nigeria’s other representative in CAF Champions league , Rivers United, will battle the Democratic Republic of Congo champions in their opening fixture. If they progress, Finidi George’s men will meet either AC Leopards of Congo or Mozambique’s Black Bulls in the next stage.
Preliminary round matches are scheduled for September 19–21 and 26–28, 2025, while second preliminary round games will be held between October 17–19 and October 24–26
