In its crusade to counter financial crimes , the Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC, Uyo amd Benin Zonal Directorates, on July 31st in joint operations arrested 65 suspected internet fraudsters in parts of Akwa Ibom State.and different locations within Benin , Edo state
In Akwa Ibom, the intelligence- driven sting operation led to the arrest of the suspected fraudsters, whose ages fall between 19 and 28years.Items recovered from them include: three cars, 30 mobile phones, three laptops and a wristwatch.
While In Benin ,EFCC operatives arrested suspects based on credible intelligence on their alleged involvement in internet- related fraud.
Items recovered from them include 16 exotic cars and phones.
The suspects will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.
